The Central library of Lumding College was established in the year 1959, right from the inception of the college. It is situated in an Assam type building and the area of the library is 97×30 sq. ft. The total seating capacity in the reading area is 60. Its main responsibility is to provide the students and faculty members with a good and functional Library. The collection of books is 23,385 and the library subscribes to several journals, magazines and daily newspapers in different languages. The library is up-to-date, well-lighted, pleasant, quiet and well-stocked with books that the students and faculty members can use them effectively. The library purchases books, important journals, magazines and other reading materials on the recommendation made by the various departments of the college and suggestions made by students. The library has N-List subscription to provide access to the users to e-books and e-journals. The library is automated with ILMS SOUL 2.0. SOUL software has been in use since 2005. A notice board displays the facilities, timings and rules of the library. Wi-fi facility is also available in the library. CCTV cameras are installed in the library for 24×7 surveillance. Bar Coding System in the Library has been installed in the year 2023 for smooth circulation. The library follows Dewey Decimal Classification system to arrange the books according to their subjects.
